 2002: The birth

In the spring of 2002, from a faraway country, a boy was born. For the first time, his voice was heard by the world. The father was waiting outside, a little excited but a lot scared. His mother was exhausted, tired on her bed. Both of them can't keep their's eyes on him. That was the first time, or maybe the only time, they were so happy when he cried. On the last day of January, the sky was clear, and the air was fresh. Two people were so happy. Their baby was born and was name after his father, a beautiful. It is a beautiful story or at least that what he was told.

2014: Changing school

The boy was 14. The baby now has been a teenager, felt excited for the new school year, missed his friend. Then, his parents had to move and so did he. the boy did not expect this before. He did not want to change school. His friend still lived there, why did he have to go? The boy started his new life in a new place. Sometimes things were good but most of the time, he was sad and felt isolated. But he will forever remember this period. Not because it was bad, but because he had his first crush.

2018: Big change

2018, the boy is now a high school student, but not a very good one. Things are getting better, emotionally. He fit in with his friend, feel a little happier. He was happy with life, but his parent did not. In the summer of 2018, the boy was playing in his room. His mother came into his room. She asked a question that changes her son's life: "Son, what do you think about studying in the U.S". The failing high school kid was shocked yet, he felt excited and answered "yes". Fast forward 4 months later, Lan was at the airport, saying goodbye to his parents and his friend. Some of them were crying. He carried his luggage, prepared himself for a future on his own, and waved goodbye to his hometown.

2021: New life

Time flies, from the first time steps his feet to American soil, barely knows English. Lan is now a college student, learn to write about his life in a literature way. He has grown up. He has so many things in his mind. He is confused. He confused about himself and what he is capable of. He is now trying his best every day to figure out the future of himself and the people he cares about.  

I use the plot from "The boy" by Boyle because I think it can create fascination and a little bit unpredictable. Also, I like the fact the boy "The Boy" was unnamed. By not naming the protagonists and leave many details out of context, readers can fill it in themself.
