Cries

        Some cry when they are sad, few cry when they are happy. He was living far from home. It's been 3 years since he was really happy. About three years ago, he celebrated his birthday with his family and friends on a beautiful and sunny day. But today, it's his birthday but the sky is dark and he is lonely. He took a longer shower than usual. He takes more deep breaths than ever. Then, he received a letter. He opens the letter. It was sent by his sister. The letter has a picture in it. He takes a long look at the picture and starts crying. Is it a happy cry or a sad cry? He doesn’t even know.

    Uh no! This is kind of sad because he missed his family members far away from home. Is he lonely or live with other family members?

    It is so ominous that we as readers could make up any reason for the ending cry, which makes the story all the more interesting.

Introduction

My name is Lan. I am an international student from Vietnam. I currently major in IT but considering changing it. I love to play and watch sports especially soccer. Post 15

 I think the most important thing I have learned in this class is about taking another perspective on an issue. I think many of the stories and poems in the course gave me a new way of looking at events. I got this view from reading "The Story of an Hour" by Kate Chopin. The wife in the story died which appears to be the joy of her husband's return but in fact, it was the loss of her freedom. I did not recognize this the first time I read the story but through some research. I have tried to understand the story from another perspective. I have also learned that literature has a stronger connection to my surrounding life than I thought. Through this course, I have learned to relate my social life and other courses that I learn into literature.
